No — all of our equine-assisted work is done on the ground. You don’t need any horse experience, and there’s no riding involved.
Each session (or group) involves a minimum of two providers: a Mental Health Therapist and an Equine Specialist (ES). The ES's primary role is to monitor and address safety concerns throughout the session.
Each session is unique depending upon the client's needs. However, sessions always focus on connection, observation, and mindful interaction with the horses in ways that are safe and respectful.
We currently work with All-Care (OHP), United, and Aetna.
At Crossroads Wellness, we take your privacy seriously. As with all therapy sessions, your information is confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent, unless there is a concern about your safety or the safety of another. Sessions are sometimes held in public barns or arenas, so anonymity is not guaranteed.
